Welcome! This application is for professionals interested in volunteering with the ILAC Summer Health Program in the Dominican Republic. Professionals are welcome in the fields of:
- Nursing - All positions filled - no longer accepting applications
- Pharmacy - accepting applications through April 30
- Medicine - accepting applications through April 30
- Dentistry - All positions filled - no longer accepting applications
Professionals are welcome to attend the entire program or participate in an abbreviated session below.
- Professional Session One: July 03 - July 12, 2025
- Professional Session Two: July 09 - July 21, 2025 (can depart on July 22 to participate in optional beach day, if desired)
- Entire Program: July 01 - July 24, 2025
This inter-disciplinary medical program gives Creighton University students and healthcare professionals the opportunity to learn and serve in rural Dominican communities, or campos. While living in the campo, students and professionals provide care in small clinics, give charlas (educational talks) on techniques to improve quality of life through preventative health care, and spend time with local families. Spanish-language knowledge is helpful and appreciated, but fluency is not required.
Commitment of Volunteers:
- Round-trip flight to/from Santiago, DR (STI)
- Emergency International Health Insurance ($75)
- Two preparatory Zoom meetings (1-2 months before program departure)
Provided at No Additional Cost:
- Accommodation and meals at the ILAC Center
- Accommodation and meals in the campo
- Cultural trip or activity in Santiago (based on schedule)
- In-country transportation
