Thank you for your interest in the Creighton Student Sustainability Action Fund (CSSAF). The mission of the CSSAF is to contribute to building a culture of sustainability at Creighton University by enabling, supporting, and financing student-led, student-driven initiatives that collaboratively tackle interconnected environmental, social, and economic issues. Dependent on submission timing, this will be reviewed at the next available CSSAF meeting.

Students seeking funding must complete this online application form. Once your application has been submitted, the CSSAF Coordinator will be in contact with you regarding next steps. Some projects such as infrastructure projects may require additional information before being considered by the CSSAF Governance Committee at the monthly CSSAF Governance Committee meeting. Please reach out to sustainability@creighton.edu if you have any questions or would like to set up a meeting to discuss your proposal.

Who is seeking funding?

Individual student (an individual student is seeking funding for a project they will plan and execute independently)
Group of students (an informal group of students is seeking funding for a project the group will plan and execute as a team)
Student organization (an officially recognized Creighton student organization is seeking funding for a project the organization members will plan and execute)

If you selected "group of students" please specify who comprises your group (classmates, residence hall neighbors, friends) and size of your group.

If you selected "student organization" please specify the name of the officially recognized Creighton University student organization and list the name of the organization's moderator.

Please provide a brief description of proposed project. Include information such as how this project will improve sustainability at Creighton, how this project will involve and impact students, and why you think this project is an innovative opportunity for Creighton University.

In what ways does this proposed project tackle interconnected environmental, social, and economic sustainability issues?

What is the inspiration for this project? Are there studies, articles, or similar projects at other institutions that help justify the foundation and aims of your project?

What are the measurable impacts of your proposed project? Specify any tools you plan to use to measure impact.

What types of education, publicity, and outreach will be part of this proposed project?

What is the time frame for the completion of your project? *Note: Programmatic proposals must be completed within 12 months of approval. Funding for infrastructure proposals will be assessed on a project-by-project basis.*

List major tasks and milestones for your project in chronological order and provide an estimate of how long each task will take to complete.

Proposal Budget: The budget template is a way to organize the items needed for the project proposal and to determine the amount of funding to request. A reminder: Budgets are limited to $2,000 for Programmatic and $10,000 for Infrastructure grants. Please download the budget template and fill it out with your project proposal information. Project Advisor: Every project is required to have a Creighton faculty or staff member who will serve as an advisor for the project. The role of the project advisor is to provide feedback about the project and serve as a sounding board during the pre-proposal planning of the project and during the execution of the project.
